St Michael at Bowes church in Palmerston Road used to provide English-as-Second-Language (ESL) courses for newcomers until funding by Enfield Council ceased about a year ago. However, the church is still receiving queries about ESL courses. They are hoping to attract a volunteer to do the teaching, as per the notice below.

St Michael at Bowes church offers basic ESL course for newcomers and immigrants! We need ESL teachers who would like to volunteer for about 10 to 12 weeks between March and May 2020. We would like to offer the course one day a week during the daytime for two hours. We would be flexible to set the date according to a mutually agreed day and time.
