Citizens Advice Enfield is urgently looking for local volunteers from Palmers Green and Bowes Park to help in its two new charity shops. No specific work experience is required and volunteering can really boost your CV if you are seeking work. All volunteers get a 25% discount.

Could you be a Compassionate Neighbour? Compassionate Neighbours is a community-led project supporting people with a life-limiting illness, who may be lonely or socially isolated.

Bambos Charalambous MP took time out of his busy schedule on Friday 10th May to visit Macmillan Cancer Support professionals at North Middlesex University Hospital. He has a particular interest in the exceptional work taking place within the Macmillan Palliative care team at the hospital. Mr Charalambous hopes that their example of good practice can be replicated across the country in line with his recently proposed private members bill aiming to improve the provision of care for terminally ill patients nationwide to make the system better and fairer.

Citizens Advice Enfield are recruiting two apprentices to train to provide initial advice to the charity's clients. This is a rare opportunity to train at Citizens Advice while receiving a salary - £130 for a 30-hour week.

Do you want to support people to learn to fix their bicycles? Do you want to gain experience + skills in bicycle maintenance? There are volunteering opportunities with London Grown.

Learn to be a volunteer: One-to-One Enfield is running a free accredited course at Community House, Edmonton, on 29th April, 1st May and 3rd of May (9.45am to 2.45pm). You need to attend all three sessions. On completion of the course the organisers can support you to find voluntary work.

Citizens Advice Enfield urgently needs volunteers to work in its shops in Palmers Green and to help build a social media profile.

The formal opening of the rebuilt Shaftesbury Hall in Bowes Park took place on Saturday 9th February. The building is owned by North London Samaritans and replaces a Victorian 'tin tabernacle' - a small chapel built predominantly of corrugated metal.

The two Citizen's Advice Bureau shops in Palmers Green - north and south of the North Circular - are both looking for more volunteers.
