Carers’ Support Appointments are now available at the Ruth Winston Community Centre The Ruth Winston Community Centre is now working with Enfield Carers Centre to provide additional support to families and carers at the Ruth Winston Community Centre. A support worker from Enfield Carers Centre will be here on the first Wednesday of each month from 10.00am – 12 noon for one to one support meetings. A North London-based charity which provides support for women who are victims of domestic or sexual violence is teaming up with Enfield Council to raise awareness of abusive relationships among women who may not recognise the warning signs until it is too late. Solace Women's Aid was set up in Islington 41 years ago and now operates throughout London. The scale of violence against women is truly shocking - far higher than is generally appreciated.  One in four women in the UK is affected.......

This is the question that Chance UK is posing.  By becoming a Chance UK mentor you would be helping inspire a primary school child with behavioural difficulties, who otherwise when a little older might find themself drawn into anti-social or criminal activity. The not-for-profit organisation Studio 306 will be running sewing workshops beginning in April.  Starting with the basics - how to thread a needle - and ending up creating beautiful cushions or patchwork quilts. Starting April 9th 2015, you will be able to learn Sewing with a skilled tutor. For £270, you will learn over ten weeks all the skills needed to create your own cushion, quilt or bag.  This works out to £27 a week for a three hour lesson.  Studio 306  also offer.......
