The Dugdale Centre has awoken from its long enforced period of inactivity. The new opening hours are 11am to 3pm Monday to Friday. So far the Café, Gift Shop and Gallery have reopened, and on 14th July they will be followed by the Museum and Local Studies Centre. The gallery plays host to a new exhibition by Palmers Green artist Patrick Samuel celebrating what he enjoyed about lockdown and his eagerness to to paint during the period of isolation

Palmers Green Art Group started 12 years ago to help a group of amateur artists nurture and develop their artistic skills in an informal and friendly environment. The first month of this year's Artist-in-Residence scheme in Broomfield Conservatory was brought to a close with a very popular drop-in workshop, giving visitors an opportunity to learn how to create ceramic leaves. A local artist has been awarded the 2016 Columbia Threadneedle Prize, Europe’s leading open competition for figurative and representational art. Lewis Hazelwood-Horner, who lives in Southgate, receives a cash prize of £20,000 and a solo exhibition for a wider body of his work at Mall Galleries later this year.
