Palmers Green Police made the following announcement on their Twitter feed last week:

The Bogus roofers are around the Palmers Green area again. Victims have been told they have tiles missing. Some work is done then more money is demanded as more and more problems are discovered. Previous victims have been scammed out of up to £30,000.

They can often be very forceful or persuasive in getting their victims to sign up to their services. If you are having work carried out by people that fit the previous tweet please report to the police on 101 and Enfield Trading Standards on 0345 404 05 06.
