Enfield Philosophy Café: Private Profit and the Public Good - Should We Fear Free Markets?

Dugdale Centre, Enfield Town, EN2 6DS

Our topic for the first session of the new year is 'Private Profit and the Public Good - Should We Fear Free Markets?' With so much concern about the privatisation of health care, education, and many other public services, this month we will be asking what the free market actually is, how it can be justified, and whether or not it really can meet all our needs in the way that its supporters claim.

The session is on Friday January 11th and starts at 2pm in Room 4 of the Dugdale Centre. Tickets are £5 and can be bought in advance either online through the theatre website or over the phone at the box office. You can also buy your tickets at the box office on the day. As always, please let me know if you would like to come. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all and tackling an issue that I'm sure we all feel passionately about.
