Passing Time - Moments in Broomfield: An exhibition by Patrick Samuel

Dugdale Centre, Enfield Town, EN2 6DS

Broomfield Park is a 21-hectare, green sanctuary in Palmers Green. Being a local resident since 2004, Patrick Samuel has come to see the park not only as an inspiration for his artistic work, but also as an important part of his life. In his own words:

“Whether it’s a meeting point for friends who visit, or the go-to spot where I’d take my dog for his daily exercise and walkabout, the park itself is like an extension of home. If a tree is suddenly taken down after a storm, I’d miss it. When the ducks I know aren’t there anymore, I feel it. As a person with autism and ADHD, Broomfield symbolises a place of peace, calm and tranquillity. It’s a refuge from all the other things that are constantly in flux. While change is unavoidable, some things remain timeless.”

The vibrant trees, the diversity and beauty of flowers, the three lakes of the Baroque Water Garden, its architectural features and expanses — Broomfield Park holds countless memories for Patrick and has offered unique opportunities for him to reflect on nature and life.

Passing Time — Moments in Broomfield shows how Patrick has experienced Broomfield Park over the years, and how its landscape has influenced his life and art.

Some artworks will be available to purchase.
