Photography masterclass with Esther Serrano

Collage Artspace 4, Library Mall, 191 High Street, N22 6DZ

Esther Serrano is a Spanish artist based in London. She purchased her first camera shortly after the birth of her eldest daughter to document her childhood as she grew up. Years later she began drawing and painting, and gradually these hobbies developed into a passion. In 2010 she completed the two year City Lit Fine Art Course, and in 2011 David Cranswick introduced her to the traditional painting methods and materials of the European Old Masters.

Esther is fascinated by people, nature and wildlife, light and shadow, reflections and textures. She enjoys working in a variety of mediums, her favourite being the one she is using at the time. Recently, she has become a member of the Muswell Hill Photographic Society, and won the Mike McCarthy Photographic Award 2016 for Art in Nature.

Esther’s Photography Masterclasses are on Monday 14th and Sat 21st October.

‘Moving from auto to manual setting’

Ditch the auto and create amazing shots using manual settings on your camera in particular, white balance, aperture, speed, ISO, manual focusing and how to get the best settings for portraits, wildlife, sports, etc.

Requirements:

- bring a camera with manual settings (could be a camera, tablet or phone with manual setting capabilities). This is a practical course! Camera with manual settings is essential – you are going to be shooting at least 50% -60% of the time.

- read a paper beforehand with the ‘basic information about manual settings’ https://digital-photography-school.com/shoot-manual-mode-cheat-sheet-beginners/

- it is essential that you check in your camera manual where the buttons are to change: Iso, speed, aperture and white balance. You may bring your camera manual if you are not familiar with the camera.
