Repair your jeans: The art of visible mending
(With Tricia Sharpe)
What you will learn
- Are your favourite jeans unwearable with holes and frays?
- Are you keen to learn how to repair them rather than buy new ones?
Denim is one of the world’s most resource-hungry fabrics to make. Give your jeans a longer life and learn how to darn them using the Japanese art of visible mending: Shashiko. Learning to use a patterned running stitch you will then be able to use your new skills whenever required!
What you need to bring
Just bring your jeans along – and if you have any fabric or thread you want to use to repair them, bring that too.
We will provide a range of threads and sewing kit, fabric scraps. Fabric squares can also be purchased at the shop
DURATION: 2 hours
DATE & TIME: Weds 22nd January, 6.30-8.30pm
Refreshments: Glass of wine or tea and coffee and biscuits
