St Harmonica's Blues Club: Robin Bibi Band

The Southgate Club, 17 Chase Side, N14 5BP (Entrance is in Crown Lane)

202001 robin bibi

We are excited about this Friday. Robin Bibi is one of the big names on the Blues circuit and he and his band are finally coming to perform for us at St Harmonicas.

The Robin Bibi Band are one of the UKs hardest working bands having been treading the boards in the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Ireland and the USA since the release of their debut album “Blue Thrash Therapy” in 1997. They’ve played all the major UK blues festival and have become stalwarts of UK blues/rock.

12 albums later their latest studio album, the critically acclaimed, all original “No More A Secret” reached No.2 in the IBBA playlist.
Their music is passionate, dynamic and entertaining! The band are really looking forward to playing at St Harmonicas!

Robin Bibi leads the band and provides guitar, vocals and harmonica; he brings Tony Marten on bass guitar and vocals and Craig Bacon on the drum kit. https://robinbibiband.co.uk

The half time act is pretty impressive too when Simon Hindley brings his outstanding guitar and vocals accompanied by Little Paul on harmonica.

What a great night in prospect, it might be an idea to arrive early if you want good seats.

Saturday Night in the Members Bar

That Blue Patch are providing the entertainment on Saturday evening 18th January in the Southgate Club Members Bar. Always good to watch; it won’t just be blues and you don’t have to be a Southgate Club member to attend, you just won’t benefit from the members’ bar prices! Free admission, the hat will be passed!

St Harmonica's at the Southgate Club

St Harmonica's will be at the Southgate Club on Fridays - apart from the first Friday of the month. Instead of the first Friday of the month, St Harmonica's will be at the Southgate Club on the Sunday after the first Friday (which in some months will be the second Sunday of the month).

Purchase an annual membership card for just £5 (cheapest membership anywhere?) and thereafter admission is free on Friday blues nights and Sunday blues jams. As we’ve always done, we will take ‘the hat’ around for donations, which is how the bands get paid. The Southgate Club will take the bar takings, which is how they are able to give us the venue at no cost.

So you know where your membership fee goes, we’ve had to buy some new PA equipment this year and get a mixer repaired, which cost us over £1k, and we need a reserve to top up the bands’ fees when the evening’s hat doesn’t quite make it.

Doors open at 8.00pm, the entrance is at the back in Crown Lane, and 2019 membership cards will be available on the door. Parking is fine after 6.30 in local streets and there is always 3 hour free parking in the Asda car park, public transport is a doddle!
