Friday 7 December 8.30pm - 11.30pm

St Harmonica's Blues Club: Storm Warning + That Blue Patch

St Monica's Parish Centre, Cannon House, 6 Cannon Hill, N14 7HG

storm warning dec 2018

Storm Warning are one of the finest contemporary blues bands in the UK. It’s been too long since they entertained us at St Harmonica’s and we are delighted to welcome them back this Friday, 7th December. Their own material and their take on blues classics are brilliantly arranged and delivered and they have been played on radio stations worldwide including the Paul Jones programme on Radio 2 for which they recorded a live session. With four albums under their belt (you will want to buy at least one of these) they feature a veritable line up of all the talents; Son Maxwell, ex Mick Ralphs Band vocalist and harmonica player, along with Bob Moore on guitar are a formidable pairing and with Ian Salisbury on keyboards, Derek White (Larry Miller Band) on bass and Russ Chaney (ex Mick Clarke Band) on drums they are unstoppable.

Don’t miss them, this is a class act; as is the half-time support offering in the form of Ruth & Dave ~ That Blue Patch. Marvellous entertainment.

On Sunday 9th December, John & Caroline, aka The Haunting AD, perform their semi-acoustic set in the St Monica’s bar from 8.15pm

On Monday 10th December, the Leytonstone Blues Jam sees Max Edwards, as the guest artist providing bass and vocals joined by Raf on guitar. Possibly London’s friendliest jam, the Leytonstone Blues Jam starts at 8.30pm at the Leytonstone Ex-Sevicemens Club, 2 Harvey Road, Leytonstone E11 3DB Admission is just £1.00 for jammers and £2.00 to be part of the audience.

Membership is just £2.50 for the whole year, and for that, admission is free on Friday evenings throughout the year. All we ask is that you make a donation into the hat as that is how the bands get paid. If each person puts at least £5.00 into the hat then we will be able to continue to offer the quality of acts at the club that we have managed so far. If you really don’t enjoy the evening then fair enough (but please let us know).

We don’t receive any of the bar takings so please don’t think that the more you drink the more the bands get paid. Your donations on a Friday evening into the hat is how it works.

A new home for St Harmonica's in the New Year

In January 2019 St Harmonica's will be relocating to the Southgate Club (very near Southgate tube station). The club will be held on Fridays - apart from the first Friday of the month. Instead of the first Friday of the month, St Harmonica's will be at the Southgate Club on the Sunday after the first Friday (which in some months will be the second Sunday of the month). Click here for more information.

2019 gigs at the Southgate Club

Dates shown in red are Sunday night jam sessions.  Others are Friday nights.  There is no St Harmonica's on the first Friday of the month, when the Comedy Club is held in the hall.
