St Harmonica's Blues Club: Storm Warning + That Blue Patch
St Monica's Parish Centre, Cannon House, 6 Cannon Hill, N14 7HG
Storm Warning are one of the finest contemporary blues bands in the UK. It’s been too long since they entertained us at St Harmonica’s and we are delighted to welcome them back this Friday, 7th December. Their own material and their take on blues classics are brilliantly arranged and delivered and they have been played on radio stations worldwide including the Paul Jones programme on Radio 2 for which they recorded a live session. With four albums under their belt (you will want to buy at least one of these) they feature a veritable line up of all the talents; Son Maxwell, ex Mick Ralphs Band vocalist and harmonica player, along with Bob Moore on guitar are a formidable pairing and with Ian Salisbury on keyboards, Derek White (Larry Miller Band) on bass and Russ Chaney (ex Mick Clarke Band) on drums they are unstoppable.
Don’t miss them, this is a class act; as is the half-time support offering in the form of Ruth & Dave ~ That Blue Patch. Marvellous entertainment.
On Sunday 9th December, John & Caroline, aka The Haunting AD, perform their semi-acoustic set in the St Monica’s bar from 8.15pm
On Monday 10th December, the Leytonstone Blues Jam sees Max Edwards, as the guest artist providing bass and vocals joined by Raf on guitar. Possibly London’s friendliest jam, the Leytonstone Blues Jam starts at 8.30pm at the Leytonstone Ex-Sevicemens Club, 2 Harvey Road, Leytonstone E11 3DB http://www.leytonstonebluesjam.co.uk Admission is just £1.00 for jammers and £2.00 to be part of the audience.
