Talk and discussion: Heading for extinction (and what to do about it)

Ruth Winston Community Centre, 190 Green Lanes, N13 5UE

201909 humanists extinction

Monthly meeting of the North London Humanist Group. Speaker: Robin Launder

Robin Launder is a school speaker for Humanists UK, a trainer of Humanists UK school speakers, and also a ‘faith tutor’ at Eton College; that is he runs humanist sessions for students who do not want to attend Sunday chapel.

In addition he is also an activist and speaker for Extinction Rebellion (XR), the ecological and climate activist group. It is in this latter capacity he will deliver ‘the’ XR talk, which many speakers have given up and down the country, and indeed in many countries across the globe. It will give you a picture of the ecological and climate emergency that we are facing, and (more importantly) what we can do about it. Robin’s view is that the messages are completely consistent with humanist thinking.

To find out if you agree, come along, have a listen and join in the discussion.

Meeting of North London Humanists

Visitors welcome without charge. Come and join in the discussion.

The group meets on the second Thursday of the month (except August and December) for discussion meetings ... We welcome visitors at all our events with no obligation to join, so that anyone can come along to see if they like us!
