Whether you're an experienced bowler or know nothing about the game but would like to find out more, we've got coaches who would show you the ropes and members who would make you very welcome. As much as we love our bowls, we're not afraid to have fun and recently had a great time at our Wild West Fun Day as well as many other social events, which run throughout the year including holidays and day trips. We're a really friendly club so why not give it a try? You'll find the club at the bottom of the Cherry Tree pub car park.

Turkish or Kurdish and over 16? Take part in a survey and be entered in a prize draw

London Sport is carrying out research on behalf of Enfield and Haringey councils into participation in sport and physical activity amongst Turkish and Kurdish populations living across both boroughs. Statistics show that Turkish and Kurdish residents are less physically active than other residents, which can negatively affect their health. The research is aimed at finding out why this is and what could be done to improve the amount of physical activity by Turkish and Kurdish residents. Read more

Horse trough bowled over!

Horses are rarely seen now on the roads in Southgate but were once a common sight. Cars have now replaced carts and carriages. Petrol stations have replaced drinking troughs. There are presently nine remaining drinking troughs located in Enfield and these have all been planted out. Selborne Bowling Club took the community initiative to plant out this trough to brighten up this part of The Green opposite their club. Read more
