Tottenham Art Classes have provided details of taster workshops to learn printmaking and illustration.

For anyone who has ever wanted to try printmaking or illustration, now's your chance!

We're holding taster workshops in Printmaking and Illustration in August. Open to anyone aged 14 years and over and adults.


Choose from two dates:

Tuesday 11th August from 1pm - 5.30pm

Saturday 12th August from 11am - 3.30pm

Course info:

  • An introductory workshop to mono printing open to teens to adults.
  • An ideal way for beginners to explore a simple but effective printing technique.
  • Students will practice sampling followed by recreating images of their own be it a portrait/landscape photograph or a previous drawing brought along to the class.


£27.00 which includes all equipment and materials.

Course Tutor:

Sally Wilford

The course will be tutored by local resident and artist Sally Wilford who's had paintings and print work exhibited in and around Tottenham.




Wednesday 12th August from 11am - 3.30pm

Course info:

  • In this session you will be introducedto  the principles of illustration as a means to communicate ideas, stories, emotions and messages through visual language and will gain an overview of the history and contemporary practise of illustration.
  • This will be a fun hands-on workshop where we will explore these principles through exercises in drawing, collage, and book-folding.
  • Students will be able to put their learning immediately into practice and come away with a mini illustrated book.
  • It is suitable for anyone with an interest in discovering illustration, you will be able to learn the principles of illustration whatever your current level of drawing ability. Open to teens to adults.


£27.00 includes all equipment and materials.

Course Tutor:

Phoebe Swan

Phoebe Swan has a BA (1st Class Hons) in Illustration from Camberwell College of Art and is currently studying for a Masters in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.

She is also a trained and experienced teacher who lives in Tottenham Hale and works from her studio in South Tottenham.
