Play Street Guide square wide 320Enfield Council has announced that it will be accepting new applications to set up a Play Street until 30th April.  Successful applications will be licensed to operate from 1 August 2017 until 31 July 2018.

Putting an official university(of Bristol) research outcome onto what has been common currency locally, we can now definitely say that play streets are good things: kids involved were found to be between 3 and 5 times more active when streets were car free (helping towards their NHS recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity) while locals saw stronger community bonds and greater overall happiness, new friendships were built and kids felt more at ease with their neighbours. if you're not in one ........
